Created mostly from her barn/studio in the Highlands, Hannah explores the transfer of energy from hand to canvas. Mark making she believes is one of the greatest abilities of man, and to do that everyday is a blessing.
She uses the materials she finds around her so to minimalize waste and to capitalize on expressing both time and place. For this series she uses wooden pallets covered in cotton material, with her medium being mainly house paint and wood varnish. Natural and found objects are an important aspect of Hannah's work and will often drive the size and meaning of any given series. Living surrounded by nature at this time has had an obvious influence on Hannah, transcending the canvas in this kinetic sometimes sculptural form.
